High Stress

Stress contributes to teeth grinding which can crack our teeth. This can result in tooth loss, TMJ pain, dry mouth, canker sores and even periodontal disease.
Ask your dentist how this can all be prevented.

We are Winter ready!

We are ready for the holiday season with our new fireplace.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Toothpaste

Did you know?
The first toothpaste was invented by the ancient Egyptians. Ancient Egyptian recipe  for toothpaste contained "one drachma of rock salt, two drachmas of mint, one drachma of dried iris flower and 20 grains of pepper, mixed together."

P.S. Don't try this at home

Golden Retrievers from China

On July 3rd we received 2 golden retrievers from China, (Rescues from China's Meat Market). These dogs are amazing! After a 17 hr flight,(not including layovers) with little food and water, they are STILL bouncy balls of energy, full of love for humans  who they have no cause to trust. We are helped by our rescue partners in China. All of our cultures have barbaric traditions that inflict unimaginable cruelty on those that cannot defend themselves. This cannot continue in the name of tradition. Lets work together to abolish this horrific practice.

Enamel Erosion

Enamel erosion results in sensitivity and tooth decay
Enamel erosion is caused by acidic foods and bruxism
(grinding your teeth)

Patient with a 100% overbite causing severe wear of the inside surfaces of the upper front teeth and facial surfaces of the lower front teeth. Teeth grinding caused wear of the chewing surfaces of the posterior teeth.
Patient also has a gummy smile.
Solution:  We opened the bite with Lava crowns on posterior teeth reducing overbite to 60%, giving us enough space to restore upper and lower front teeth with lava crowns.  We also recontoured gingival tissue to reduce gingival display when smiling.  My material of choice was Lava for its strength (zirconia) & beauty
(feldspathic porcelain).
